Catechism of the Catholic Church (English and Latin Edition)

Catechism of the Catholic Church (English and Latin Edition)by Libreria Editrice VaticanaPaulist Pr

Catechism of the Catholic Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Catechism of the Catholic Church is the first new edition of the catechism in 400 years. Catechism means "instruction," and this text will remain the standard reference for Catholics for many future generations. It is the authoritative summary of Catholic belief regarding the Church creeds, sacraments, commandments, and prayers. To get some idea of the level of detail with which the Catechism engages Catholic doctrine, consider that 17 pages of explanation accompany the opening words of the Apostle's Creed ("I Believe in God the Father"). The book is exceptionally well organized, with line-by-line explanations of every conceivable aspect of orthodox Catholic belief. Extensive cross-referencing, indexing, footnotes, and "In Brief" summaries of each section further ease the project of finding the precise answers to any questions a reader might have. Even the layout of information on the page is easy on the eyes, with wide margins for readers who wish to make notes. Furthermore, the back cover features a true rarity in the annals of world literature: a blurb by the Pope. --Michael Joseph Gross

She Had No Choice, a Latin Spin on The Color Purple

She Had No Choice, a Latin Spin on The Color Purpleby Debra Burroughs

Praise for She Had No Choice
5 out of 5 STARS "I loved this book. It was interesting following the family through its history of woes and heartache. I found myself rooting for the women in this story, wanting them to get out of their situation, stand up for themselves and choose to walk away... The one thing that I found delightful was the ending. Perfectly appropriate!!"

"Fantastic Read! I highly recommend this book to my readers...it isn't often that I stumble across something that I like as much as I did this!"
Lindsay R. Coada

"A Must Read" This story was heart-breaking and joyous in equal measure. I cheered these women on...Every woman should read this novel."
- Deena Schoenfeldt, Reader

OVERVIEW of She Had No Choice...
She Had No Choice is a dramatic family saga that takes a Latin spin on the epic novel and film, The Color Purple. Inspired by a true story, this gripping and poignant multi-generational story follows the Ramirez family through a roller coaster of difficult, yet inspiring events, setting off a wide range of emotions. This tale proves that Love really does conquer all.

Other 5 out of 5 star reviews...
Burroughs writes with such intensity and you feel what each character is going through on each and every page. She states the book is inspired by a series of true stories. I feel this enhances the reader's expectations. The story ends in 1960 and I am hoping for a sequel! Sophia and Eva have come a long way since 1918. I want to follow their lives and I have no doubt all readers who enjoy She Had No Choice will agree.

SOOO GOOD!! It really captures your attention right from the beginning. So moving that it made me cry and when it ended I was like NOOO! I won't give anything away but you left me wondering......Hopefully a sequel is in the future.

The Motorcycle Diaries (Movie Tie-in Edition) : Notes on a Latin American Journey

The Motorcycle Diaries (Movie Tie-in Edition) : Notes on a Latin American Journeyby Ernesto Che GuevaraOcean Press

The book of the popular movie

STARRING GAEL GARCIA BERNAL

NOW A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The young Che Guevara’s lively and highly entertaining travel diary. This new, expanded edition features exclusive, unpublished photos taken by the 23-year-old Ernesto on his journey across a continent, and a tender preface by Aleida Guevara, offering an insightful perspective on the man and the icon.

“As his journey progresses, Guevara’s voice seems to deepen, to darken, colored by what he witnesses in his travels. He is still poetic, but now he comments on what he sees, though still poetically, with a new awareness of the social and political ramifications of what’s going on around him.”—January Magazine

“A journey, a number of journeys. Ernesto Guevara in search of adventure, Ernesto Guevara in search of America, Ernesto Guevara in search of Che. On this journey of journeys, solitude found solidarity, ‘I’ turned into ‘we’.” —Eduardo Galeano

“When I read these notes for the first time, I was quite young myself and I immediately identified with this man who narrated his adventures in such a spontaneous manner… To tell you the truth, the more I read, the more I was in love with the boy my father had been…” —Aleida Guevara

“Our film is about a young man, Che, falling in love with a continent and finding his place in it.” —Walter Salles, director of “The Motorcycle Diaries.”
